Periovive™

A simple, cost-effective .8% hyaluronic acid (HA) in gel formulation for veterinary dental applications.  A naturally occurring biomaterial that has been proven safe and effective in both humans and dogs for a variety of indications; including dentistry.

Facilitates periodontal tissue recovery after routine prophylaxis, tooth extraction and gingival surgery.  Works to improve tissue recovery via multiple mechanisms of action to support normal cellular infiltration, stabilize blood clotting, and establish microbial barrier to support tissue healing and recovery. 

Extremely hydrophilic, it absorbs 1000x its weight in water. When contacted with fluids such as water or blood, it increases in viscosity, and on a microscopic level, it binds to specific cell surface receptors enhancing extracellular stability.

Surrogate endpoints suggest halting of progression to more severe periodontal disease and reduction in required tooth extractions. Periodontal applications of HA have shown statistically significant efficacy.

Single dose, pre-filled 1ml luer-lock syringe with two separate applicator tips for convenient and precise delivery to tissues. Each syringe is good for 3-4 dogs and 5-6 cats on average. After use, just recap and store at room temperature out of direct sunlight; viable for at least two weeks. Optimally applied under anesthesia by a licensed veterinarian or veterinary technician.

Canine studies demonstrate statistical improvement across a range of endpoints after just a single application.
